Gypsy started her music carrier as the vocalist of the band of her own she named HUNCH when she was 16 years old. She then split the band up and repeated organizing new bands and splitting them up a number of times and finally settled in the current band she named Gypsy Black Stone. Throughout her career buildup period she globe-trotted the world around to Mexico, Canada, Cuba, Jamaica, Malaysia, Vietnam, India, Gambia, France, Belgium, Holland and England as her soul wildly guided her to with her strong desire to find her nest where her soul can rest in. She played her music with local musicians wherever she visited, participated in various musical activities and produced many musical events in different occasions with her soul sharing friends. Her recent activities include co-production of music with Mad Professor of Gambia in 2013, joint performance with the bassist, Kirk Service of Lee Perry in his album recording in London, etc...
Her talent is not only with music. She was given another talent in painting and art productions in different forms including photograph.
She says she was greatly influenced by her father, Keiji Kawakita, the legendary Harley Davidson custom-builder in Japan who still runs Hot Dock Custom Cycle in Tokyo and has hosted a number of Harley Davidson racings and events across Japan. She has been the chief of his back-of-the-house staff in the events and often traveled with her farther as his interpreter.
This year, 2015 she is organizing a new recording in Jamaica for her new album in collaboration with Sly& Robby. Her fans are looking forward to its public release.
